Description: Rare 1960 Mickey Mantle New York Yankees professional model home jersey (AL Championship Season)(SGC/Grob: Very Good/Excellent). The name, Mickey Mantle, envokes a legacy within the millions of fans and baseball admirers of a generation. While rookie cards and signed baseballs from the Mick are always increasing in demand there can be no substitute for a game used artifact from Mantle's storied career. We are pleased to present an outstanding 1960 Mickey Mantle New York Yankees home jersey which retains its original "NY" insignia on the front and desirable "Mantle" chain stitched strip tag affixed inside the collar area. Mantle's iconic uniform #7 on the reverse has been properly restored as the original was at one point removed and replaced with a different numeral the vestiges of which are faintly visible. Tail front of the shirt retaiins its original Spalding manfacturer's label with size 44 supplemental tag and "60" chain stitched year designation. Interior tail area has "Dry Clean" tag and "Set 1 1960" flag tag. General condition and appearance of the jersey are superb with strong evident use and no mentionable condition defects other than the aforementioned number change. The population of known Mantle game jerseys of quality is a very limited number with the vast majority housed in permanent collections or advanced hobbyists.
