Description: Babe Ruth professional model baseball bat c.1928-29 (PSA/DNA GU8). Handsome Louisville Slugger 125 model hickory bat presenting with rich brown finish measures 35" long and weighs and impressive 40.8oz. The bat exhibits heavy use including surface ball marks, grain swelling, and some scoring to the end of the handle area by the knob. There is a single ring roughly 1 1/2" from the end of the knob that may have been caused by rolling in the bat tray in front of the Yankees dugout. Bold Louisville Slugger trademark and Babe Ruth facsimile signature stampings adorn the barrel. Small depressions on the front and right barrel have some professional restoration. This particular bat matches the Louisville Slugger Factory bat order records for the period between August 22, 1928 through August 29, 1929. Babe Ruth game used bats are the pinnacle of any vintage memorabilia collection. The offered Ruth bat is a classic example dating to the Murderers Row period that crowned the Babe's illustrious career. Includes LOA from PSA/DNA (GU8): EX
