Lot Number: 271

Description: Rare Joe Dugan professional model baseball bat c.1933-34. Louisville Slugger 125 model bat with Dugan facsimile signature impressed in the barrel measures 34.5" long and weighs 37oz. Extensive usage wear is evident throughout including substantial grain swelling (due to repeated contact), visible ball marks, and a severe handle crack. Vault marked with "M102" model number on either end signifying return to Louisville Slugger to be used as a template in future orders (the "M" denoting that the player whom sent it back was someone other than Dugan). PSA has noted on the included documentation that side writing was also placed on the bat by Louisville Slugger however this has faded and is no longer visible. Over (14) seasons as a Major League player Dugan's prowess in the field earned accolades as one of the premier defensive third baseman of the era. His most noted years were spent with the New York Yankees where he was part of (3) Championship teams including the fabled 1927 roster which is remembered as perhaps the most dominant of all-time. An exceedingly rare game bat and one of only a handful of known examples. Includes LOAs from Hunt Auctions and PSA/DNA (graded "GU 6"): EX
