Description: *Updated description* Roger Maris professional model baseball bat c.1961-64. Louisville Slugger 125 model with Maris facsimile signature burned into the barrel measures 35" long and weighs 32oz. Model number "O16" is factory stamped into the knob. Extensive usage wear can be found throughout with contact and cleat marks to the barrel which has grain swelling/separation. Tape has been removed from over a handle crack. A more pronounced area of residue adjoins the knob end which has a large chip. Many of the condition issues noted would benefit from professional restoration and render an example with fine eye appeal. In addition to being a particularly productive period of his career overall, the labeling period of this bat also encompasses Maris' Legendary 1961 season in which he set the single season record for homeruns which would stand until 1998.
