Description: Lemon peel style trophy baseball c.1860s. Full size one piece lemon peel style baseball with presentational inscription on two side panels believed to have originated in the Baltimore, MD region. Ball itself is of the highest quality measuring 9 1/2" in circumference with finely executed stitch pattern. Two side panels of the baseball display black ink presentational inscription with varying degrees of surface wear. Word "Presented" and "Match" are clearly visible.
