Lot Number: 478

Description: 1903 Pittsburgh Pirates program vs. The New York Giants (identical to 1903 World Series program). Original scorecard/program issued for game played at Exposition Park scored neatly in pencil for June 3rd game in which Sam Leever shutout Iron Joe McGinnity and the New York Giants. Hint of light consistent age toning and little mentionable wear visible when viewed from the front with exception of a faint horizontal center fold and small "1903" pencil notation. Back cover has a touch more wear in the form of a few scattered surface wrinkles. Neatly trimmed at (3) sides to current measurements of 7.25"x9.5". Identical to the program which was issued by the club for the World Series later that season of which only (2) copies are known. The World Series version is an incredible rarity (the sole copy offered publicly was sold by Hunt Auctions in November of 2011 for $210,000) and this may serve as a placeholder within even the most advanced collections: EX-EX/MT with note to trimmed edges
