Description: 1975 Jim Palmer Cy Young Award. Important original award as presented to Jim Palmer following the 1975 season in which he won a career high (and League leading) (23) games with a League leading 2.09 ERA and struck out (193). The second of what would become (3) total earned during his career and related to what was arguably his best season. Black painted wooden plaque with affixed silver plated figural pitching arm positioned above placard which reads in relief, "Presented to Jim Palmer Most Valuable Pitcher American League 1975". Measures 16.5" tall and retains "Balfour" manufacturer's sticker on back. Very minor scattered wear with several minute paint chips and expected tarnish. Small "ding" at lower edge. Highly desirable piece representing one of the most recognizable high honors a pitcher can achieve and one of the more significant to have entered the marketplace with regard to level of player notoriety.
