Description: 1910 Napoleon Lajoie handwritten letter on "Lajoie's Base Ball Guide" stationery. September 29, 1910 Handwritten letter to D.A. Fletcher on "American League Publishing Company" stationery which depicts a Lajoie guidebook. Reads in full, "Your letter at hand contracts noted. Enclosed find measurements for uniform. You can count on me if the rest of the boys play. Sorry to have delayed you so long." Signed at the close, "N. Lajoie." Lajoie was, by 1910, one of the greatest stars of the American League and nearly a household name serving as the namesake for the Cleveland Naps. He was on the tail end of one of the great careers of the dead ball era and revered throughout the game. This is the first letter we have encountered on this particular type of stationery.
