Description: 1910 John McGraw handwritten letter with fine content. September 10, 1910 handwritten letter to D.A. Fletcher on front/back of 5"x6.25" folded over paper sheet. Reads in part, "In reply to your favor of the 6th will say that I am ready + anxious to fill my contract with you...If I can be of any use to you on this end let me know." Signed at the close, "J.J. McGraw." McGraw had a (16) year playing career (during which he had established himself as one the game's fine early players) under his belt and was in the midst of a (33) year Managerial string. Without question, he was one of the most influential figures in the National League at the time of writing and no doubt played an important role in organizing support for the All-Star Game to be played. Light consistent age toning and typical mailing folds with other minor scattered wear. Upper edge has pair of small pinholes and small rust stain on front with slightly more pronounced area of toning on front/back. Signature/handwriting rate 8 out of 10.
