Description: Scarce 1942 All-Star Game program. Original program issued for the War era game which was originally scheduled for Brooklyn's Ebbets Field and ended up being played at the larger Polo Grounds stadium in New York. The game featured several star players who would shortly put their baseball careers on hold to enter the second World War. The AL won by a score of 3-1 in a poorly attended game due to rain. The offered example remains unscored and has highly uncommon, "this is the Tenth All Star Game" paper insert stapled inside. Moderate age toning throughout with light scattered exterior wear at edges. Binding approximately 50% intact. Rust stains from staple to facing pages of insert: EX
