Description: 1960 Roger Maris handwritten letter regarding his 1961 season salary (PSA/DNA 7 NM). January 20, 1960 dated handwritten letter on lined paper has been signed "Sincerely, Roger Maris." It was written to Roy Hamey who was then serving as General Manager of the Yankees and reads "Received the contract and in looking it over I noted a $2,000 raise and I think I'm worth every bit of a $6,000 raise over last years contract. Enclosed please find contract unsigned." Maris ultimately came to terms with the Yankees and made the move to New York where he flourished. He would rewrite record books during the fabled 1961 season and remained a member of the Yankees until 1966. Hint of light toning with staple holes at upper left.
