Description:1899-1900 M101-1 Sporting News Supplements Cy Young. Rare and desirable supplement shows the legendary Cy Young as a member of the St. Louis Perfectos. The oversized piece was issued on December 9, 1899 as an insert to The Sporting News with the single day of release accounting for extreme scarcity today. It is one of the earliest pieces made available to fans which depicts Young and (despite there being a handful of earlier issues which are equally as scarce) is considered by many to be one of his Rookie cards/issues. Currently displayed in a 14"x16.5" frame which has glass on both sides to allow for viewing of both the front and back. The piece presents very nicely despite its technical grade (PR) which is due to some staple holes at upper left corner (which also a crease), what appears to be a minute edge tear at lower left, a small upper surface scuff to the paper (to the right of this small tear), and light wrinkles throughout. Applied to the back is a 1957 dated stamp from noted early sports book and memorabilia dealer Goody Goldfadden. The first example we can ever recall offering and one on only a handful to have come to market in many years: PR
