Description: 1968 Wayne Coomer Detroit Tigers professional model home jersey (World Series Championship season) Cream color flannel has the Tigers "D" team logo on left front chest and number "27" on the back. Wilson tag on front tail notes size (40) and there is a "1968 - Set 3" embroidered strip tag below. Well preserved with strong use and some light general age related wear. What may be the outline of a patch on the sleeve suggests the jersey was likely used again the following season (when this number was issued to Ron Woods). Coomer was a journeyman playing in the Tigers farm system when he was called in up in May of 1968 after Al Kaline broke his forearm. He appeared in (48) games for the club that year and made a plate appearance in Game (3) of the World Series hitting a pinch-hit single.
