Interior leather band retains Tim McAuliffe tagging along with Pro KM stamp and size 7 1/2. "R.H." initials written in period ink under the bill and interior leather band has been signed by Roger Hornsby's son Bill Hornsby. Hat exhibits excellent usage wear incl. perspiration toning on interior and appropriate usage to the interior leather headband. Top of bill has some fraying from age otherwise hat is fairly clean. Originally sold by Hornsby's son Bill in a 1995 auction. Included with the hat is a fine autographed 8"x10" sepia tone photo of Hornsby standing with legendary collector Jim Armstong in his 1962 Mets uniform and is likely wearing the offered hat. Hat was obtained directly by a Dodger Stadium clubhouse employee along with a Claude Osteen game used bat (which has since been sold). It is the recollection of the employee that he obtained the hat during the 1965 season which is consistent with the fact that Osteen's first year was 1965 and Koufax retired in 1966. Glove has period "41" written on backstrap alongside of the red Rawlings label. Interior middle finger has been signed by Mathews in blue sharpie. Glove exhibits strong usage incl. pocket wear and general use indications throughout. Lacings at the top of the fingers have separated with some slight losses to the front. Glove was given by Mathews to Jim Jackson. Jackson's father operated "Roy Jackson's House of Hits" in Milwaukee which was frequented by the Braves players of the era. On one such occasion Eddie Mathews presented young Jackson with the offered glove. Glove exhibits strong usage but remains intact with desirable original patina. Has a small stitching repair at the back of the base at the thumb area. Originally obtained from Reese by former Major League player Roy Bruner around 1946 who was acquainted with Reese from their Louisville baseball days and then later as a friend and business partner. Bruner subsequently gave the glove to his neighbor in Louisville, KY Mr. Phil Hall. The glove has not been previously offered for sale and will include a notarized letter of provenance from Mr. Hall. Very seldom offered oversized version of this classic image measures 17"x37" matted and framed picturing game action taken during the second game of the 1907 World Series between Detroit and Chicago. The photograph was taken from a vantage point behind the first baseline and offers a fine sweeping view of the game in progress with thousands of fans jammed into every conceivable spot within the Chicago stadium. Album reads right to left per Japanese custom and retains its very scarce original leather cover with Japanese characters. Interior includes team autographed sheets for both the American and Japanese teams with beautiful ink signatures. U.S. players include Ruth, Gehrig, Foxx, Mack, Gomez, Berg, Gehringer, and Averill. Signatures range from 9-10 out of 10. Japanese players have signed on two different pages incl. Jimmy Horio who signed in English and Japanese. Remainder of the book contains a total of (23) original images taken during the Tour. Each photo measures 9"x11" and are mounted to cabinet mount stock album pages.
