Description: Wally Schang signature model Draper & Maynard catchers mitt c.1920s-30s (rare model attributed to his personal use) (EX) Draper & Maynard brand left handed catchers mitt in seldom offered style with leather reinforced finger tip areas and scarce "Wally Schang" signature facsimile endorsement. Also visible are the Company logo and "Double Palm" stampings and the original sewn on label can be found above buckle closure on back. Evident usage wear throughout with some small areas of discoloration though leather remains supple and pliable. Includes letter from "Tigertown Collectibles" stating that ownership can be traced through the family of a close friend of Schang and is it believed to have been given to them after his retirement in 1931. Letter also states that Schang is shown wearing the same glove in the included 8"x10" black and white photograph. While we agree that there is a striking similarity we can not state with certainty that it is indeed the very glove pictured (though this is plausible/possible): EX ($300-$500)Final Bid: $454.00
