Description: Johnny Unitas "National Football League Player of The Year" Timmie Award. Impressive figural trophy presented to Johnny Unitas who was a (3) time recipient of the honor for his efforts during the 1957, 1958, and 1967 seasons. Presentational piece stands just over 16" tall with "Touchdown Club of Washington, D.C." logo and "Timmie" titling medallions affixed to the base. Below are a pair of engraved placards reading "Touchdown Club Award, To The National Football League Outstanding Professional Player Of The Year" and "John Unitas Baltimore Colts." Nice overall condition with a touch of wear to include a few small nicks/chips to the black finish. There are few small holes on either side of the lower base, likely the result of prior mounting within a larger display which have been filled/inpainted not distracting from overall visual appeal. The Timmie Awards are presented annually across a broad number of categories and are generally considered among the most prestigious given out. The past roster of NFL Player of The Year Award recipients, as named by the Touchdown Club, includes some of the most noted players of all-time.
