Description: Historic 1959 Weeb Ewbank handwritten notes and other material related to the Colts Championship season. Significant archive as kept by Weeb Ewbank detailing his efforts as Head Coach of the Baltimore Colts during the 1959 Championship season. Comprised mostly of pages with handwritten notes (by Ewbank himself) which detail events starting with "1st Day…July 20 1959" of training camp and ending with several pages of notes related to practices just before the season ending Championship game. Interspersed are a number of typewritten team issued pieces of paperwork (some with handwritten notes applied). There is mention of nearly every player on the team, several hand drawn plays, and notes on their opponents. A fascinating glimpse into the inner workings of the Colts from one of the most highly regarded Coaches in NFL history. The pages (approx. 110) have been spiral bound (likely within the last 20 years) with resulting holes along the left side of each sheet and there is some general handling wear throughout.
