Rare Joe DiMaggio New York Yankees road jersey c.1947. Stunning piece of historical sports clothing, the offered shirt is a road grey flannel Yankee jersey with "New York" blue felt lettering on front and blue #5 on back. Collar retains orig. Spalding tag with adjacent size 44 tag intact. "DiMaggio" chain stitched in black onto a grey applied patch also remains in collar. Jersey itself presents itself very well retaining attractive original color and surface with only typical light wear from usage. DiMaggio was and is a symbol of American sports comparable to the likes of Ruth, Thorpe, Jones, Jordan, and Rockne with countless credits to his resume to include (10) World Series appearances, (3) MVP awards including the very year of the offered jersey 1947, lifetime batting average of .325, and member of the Hall of Fame. Later in life DiMaggio was clearly regarded by some as distant but the simple fact remains that he is without question one of the finest players to take the field in Major League history and will be forever linked to the greatness of the Yankees and the general splendor of the era in which he played. Accompanied by letters of authenticity from Grey Flannel and Joe DeMattio along with a photo of DiMaggio signing the jersey: EX-MT |

Fine Babe Ruth single signed baseball c.1947. Exceptionally clean lt. off white color Frick NL baseball with no usage wear signed on the sweet spot by Babe Ruth. Signature is in blue fountain pen and rates a very solid 9 out of 10 with only (2) small ink smudges on left side of first name. Ball was obtained by the chairman of an American Legion baseball league who travelled with a player to the American Legion All-Star game held in Shibe Park, Phila. During the ceremonies Babe Ruth and his wife Claire walked onto the field and gave a brief but labored speech due to the fact that Ruth's throat cancer was taking hold. The gentleman had Ruth sign two baseballs for him including the offered ball. Truly one of the boldest blue fountain pen Ruth signatures we have encountered on a remarkably clean ball. Includes detailed letter of provenance from the family, color image of the other Ruth auto. ball that the family elected to keep (Not single signed), LOA from James Spence PSA/DNA, and the original ball box: Ball: NM, Signature: EX/MT-NM |

Fine Babe Ruth single signed baseball bat c.1933. Louisville Slugger model 40 BR bat measuring 34" and retaining majority of its' original brown walnut finish with only a few areas of minor wear in secondary portions of the bat. On the back side of the barrel a 2"x4" area of the suface finish has been removed to allow for a splendid 3" long black fountain pen signature of Babe Ruth. Signature rates 8/9 out of 10 with only an area of contrast around the top loop in the "B" in Babe which was certainly original to the autograph. High grade Ruth autograph bats are simply becoming a challenge to locate and the offered example if among the best that we've handled. Includes LOA from David Bushing (bat) and an LOA from The Best of Yesterday (autograph): Bat: EX/MT-NM, Autograph: NM |
