Description: Spalding Fielder's figural baseball trophy c.1920s. (small repair, displays as EX/MT Seldom seen, the graceful fielder standing on a metal platform reaching for a ball is the rarest of the five trophy set issued by Spalding. Base reads "Spalding Trophy" in relief on either side of center crossed bats and baseball design with is engraved "Won by Stockwell High School 1931." Original black painted wooden portion retains Dieges & Clust manufacturer's metal tag on back. Very light scratching to wood while upper metal portion has been cleaned. The head has been reattached, leaving soldering marks around the neck. Measures 15.5" tall: Displays as EX/MT.Final Bid: $1,610.00
