Description: Jane Mathewson related ephemera and photographs (some with autographs). Includes October 1949 cover of Sport Magazine which has been signed "Mrs. Christy Mathewson" and her personal return address label is affixed along the right edge. There is a large tear and other scattered heavy wear. Balance of the magazine is included; August 7, 1957 dated handwritten letter on her personal stationary with mention of Keystone Junior College; (2) vintage photographs of Mrs. Mathewson incl. 3.25"x5.75 snapshot (on the back of which she appears to have written "Jane Mathewson at Lewisburg, Pa") and an earlier studio posed image of her seated with Christy Jr. on her lap (on mount which measures just under 4.5"x6.5"); August 9, 1926 dated letter addressed to "My dear Aunt Jane" on "The Christy Mathewson Memorial Foundation" letterhead signed by "Alfred" who was presumably her nephew. Content relates to fund raising efforts for the Mathewson Memorial buildings which were to be constructed in Saranac Lake, NY and Lewisburg, PA. The letter opens to reveal more information including illustrations which include (2) printed images of Christy Mathewson; small greeting card with handwritten note to Mrs. Mathewson from a fan of Christy Mathewson; file copy of a 1958 dated letter sent to Mrs. Mathewson regarding the Christy Mathewson Memorial Association. Varying degrees/types of wear throughout. Includes Mathewson Collection certificate of provenance: PR-EX
