Description: James J. Corbett attributed pen used to sign Sullivan bout contract (Stanley Weston Collection). Vintage fountain pen is accompanied by a signed letter of authenticity from Toby Weston Cone relaying that it is the pen used by James J. Corbett to signed the contract for a bout with John L. Sullivan. Typed text on a small slip of toned paper further states that it was their September 7, 1892 Heavyweight fight, which was the first in which gloves were used, and Corbett emerged the victor to claim the title. Weston Cone's father Stanley began working for Nat Fleischer of The Ring Magazine as a youngster and would later purchase and resurrect the Legendary publication in 1989.
