Description: Baseball folk art carved plaque c.1870-90 Charming shield shaped walnut wooden plaque which was fashioned from the top of a Victorian era cigar box having partial tax stamp labeling on the reverse. Top of the plaque features skillfully carved baseball equipment pieces to include jockey style hat, high top wooden shoes, lemon peel style baseball (stitch pattern visible), crossed bats, and early buckle style belt.
