Description: Rare 1869 Cincinnati Red Stockings photographic display in the manner of a carte de visite. Original albumen carte de visite style image of the iconic 1869 Cincinnati Red Stockings baseball team posed in studio setting. The image measures 2 3/16"x3 7/16" and appears to have been "skinned" from its original carte de visite mount. The photograph has wrinkling throughout with a few areas where some small creases/chips were laid down as currently mounted to a similar style CDV mount in the manner which it would have originally been distributed. Regarded as one of the most significant early "baseball card" issues the 1869 Red Stockings CDV exemplars remain one of the most recognizable pieces within the hobby.
