Description: 1967 Johnny Unitas "Joseph F. Carr Award…Player of The Year" trophy. Ornate handled trophy cup has been engraved "Joseph F. Carr Award, Professional Football Player of The Year, John Unitas, Baltimore Colts, Presented by The Touchdown Club of Columbus, Inc." Their logo appears below and is flanked by the year, "1967." The piece stands just under 11" tall and is marked "Silver On Copper" on the underside. Hint of light handling wear/tarnish. The Touchdown Club of Columbus presented its' Joe F. Carr Trophy (named after the former NFL Commissioner) annually from 1955 until 1978 to the NFL Player of The Year. Unitas was named NFL MVP by the AP and UPI in 1967.
