Description: 1958 Johnny Unitas "Most Valuable Pro Player To His Team" trophy. Presentational trophy featuring a figural player which stands atop pedestal that has "John Unitas Baltimore Colts" engraved on the front. This sits on a base which has an inset metal placard reading "Most Valuable Pro Player To His Team 1958, Presented by The Touchdown Club, Inc. Columbus Ohio." Unitas lead the Colts to an NFL Championship in 1958, one of (3) which he would win in the era preceding the Super Bowl. That 1958 Championship game, "The Greatest Game Ever Played", is widely considered one of the best in history and is credited with helping to popularize the League.
