Description: Johnny Unitas University of Louisville letterman's certificate with 1952 team premium. Original 6"x8" paper stock certificate with the name "John Unitas" typed in was "awarded…with all the honors, rights and privileges thereunto appertaining." Undated but likely issued c.1951-52 (his 1953 certificate was dated and it presumed his 1954 would have been as well). Unitas put up strong numbers playing college ball although the Louisville football program never managed much success. He would go on to be drafted by the Steelers and ultimately found a home in Baltimore where he would lead the Colts through some of the most memorable seasons in NFL history. Light toning with some minor scrapbook residue on back. Includes a 9.5"x12.5" Valvoline premium done on glossy stock showing the 1952 Cardinals team (VG) and letter of provenance from the Unitas Family: EXEstimated Price Range: ($1,000-$3,000)
