Description: Scarce Bert Bell NFL professional model football autographed by several Notre Dame Fighting Irish players c.1940s (Thorp Sporting Goods with no Wilson logo). Very rare "The Duke" model football having Thorp Sporting Goods insignia stamp with Bert Bell facsimile signature and no Wilson manufacturer's stamp. The ball presents in superb condition with rich brown surface and bold stampings showing light use. Signed in black ink by (9) Notre Dame players including Leon Hart (Heisman winner), Frank Tripucka, Terry Brennan, and Bill Fischer ranging from 7-9 out of 10. The ball has replaced lacing and is not fully inflated although holds its shape nicely for display. First example of this tough early NFL ball we have handled.
