Description: 1946 Chief Bender handwritten letter. June 28, 1946 dated handwritten two page letter on hotel stationery has been signed, "Sincerely yours, Chief Bender." Content reads in part, "Our Savannah team went into a bad slump two weeks ago and haven't come out of it yet. The pitching satff blew up and the batting fell off...May get some help from Mr. Mack shortly. We need it as this league is real class A..." All is done in fountain pen rating 8/9 out of 10. Light fold lines from mailing with several staple holes along top edge. First page has a small image of Bender attached, second has small section of scrapbook page attached to lower back.
