Description: Satchel Paige, 1948 (acetate negative). Desirable image of Paige during his first season in Major League Baseball. Paige is celebrated as one of the most colorful characters associated with the game and is considered one of the greatest African American pitchers of all time. Vintage negative (just under 4"x5") displaying little to no wear to central/image area with a touch of light wear at edges (including small puncture at upper left).
