Incredible estate discovery of almost (900) original posters dating from 1927-1933 which were found in their original mailing envelopes. The subject matter is vast including baseball, football, boxing, aviation, war, entertainment, auto racing, and politics. Each poster measures 12 1/2"x19" and all but a few remain in nearly as issued pristine condition. Breakdown is as follows: (48) baseball (largely New York Yankees related with numerous Babe Ruth), (89) aviation, (38) boxing, and (729) general news. Highlights include Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, 1927 World Series, 1929 Phila. A's team photo, Jack Dempsey, Jack Sharkey, Franklin Roosevelt, Charles Lindbergh, Olympics, football figures incl. Knute Rockne, famous criminals, dirigible related, news events such as natural disasters and fire, and celebrities incl. various motion picture stars of the era such as Douglas Fairbanks.
