Description: 1960 Johnny Unitas "Page One Award" presentational piece. Clamshell case as presented to Johnny Unitas has a mirror on one side of the interior and the other has a recessed area which holds a 3.25"x2.25" section of heavy metal printing plate. Text on the plate is backwards (as it was presumably used in printing of a newspaper) however holding it to mirror allows for easy reading. Plate reads "Page One Award To Johnny Unitas, The Newspaper Guild of New York PAGE ONE AWARD in Sports to Johnny Unitas for his outstanding performance and leadership that won a National Football League championship for the Baltimore Colts...April 1, 1960." Light wear to exterior with inside showing discoloration and age. The mirror is no longer affixed to the backing.
