Description: Rare c.1940s Ernie Lombardi professional model baseball bat. Louisville Slugger 125 model white ash bat with Lombardi facsimile signature burned into the barrel measures 35" long and weighs 32oz. Model number "M31" is factory stamped in the knob which has some pitting and a chip missing from one side. Strong usage wear evident throughout with ball marks covering the barrel which has some grain swelling due to repeated contact. There is a small section of material missing from the barrel end (not visible when positioned for display). Outlines of tape, which had been applied to aid in grip, can be seen on the handle which a severe crack that was fixed with around (30) small nails.
