Description: Mel Ott scrapbook with period scorecards from the Ott collection, c.1941-42 (GD-VG/EX). Large scrapbook was compiled in the period by a Giants fan, and was later presented to Mel Ott. Filled with newsprint and publication clippings, along with other similar items. Includes scorecards (adhered in pages) from 1941 (3) and 1942 (2); 1941 Play Ball cards of Giant players Danning, Young, and Jurges as well as a 1941 Double Play Young/Melton card; and a Pride of The Yankees movie program/handbill. Scrapbook exhibits major handling and storage wear along with the flaws typically found with items of this type, including loose pages, chipping/tears and paper flaking off. Includes previous Hunt Auctions letter of provenance from the Ott Family; however, the letter makes reference to a 1941 autographed scorecard that is not included with this lot: GD-VG/EX.
