Rare 1950 Russ Meyer Phila. Phillies game worn road jersey. Few years in Philadelphia sports history are as significant as the year of 1950 as the Whiz Kids took the NL by surprise and captured the pennant. The offered jersey was worn during that magical season by pitcher Russ Meyer and then passed down to a Minor League player in 1951 who has consigned the shirt to the auction. Grey flannel jersey retains name chain stitched in collar, Wilson and size tags in tail, and orig. embroidered team name and #34 on back. Very little wear with the exception of a small repaired tear in tail and a tiny slit on back. Superb example of a very tough Phillies jersey: EX-EX/MT |
