Description: Unusual Baltimore Orioles folk art painted board c.1887-1900. Double-sided oil painting on board with one side picturing a primitive rendering of Newington Park, one of the orig. Amer. Assoc. parks, including applied wooden bases. Also has crossed ring bat and ball design with stats for the year of 1872. Reverse has listing of 1872 Orioles players incl. Cummings and Brainard, also has various historical baseball statistics such as 1869 Red Stockings record and 1846 first game played in Hoboken. 14”x18” with light surface wear retaining strong color and orig. surface.
