Description: Extremely rare 1914 Philadelphia Athletics team autographed baseball. Toned and clear coated B. Johnson AL ball signed in black ink by 26 players incl. (Signature number grades in parentheses) Eddie Plank (6), Connie Mack (7/8), Frank Baker (6), Eddie Collins (5/6), Herb Pennock (5/6), Chief Bender (7/8), and Jack Lapp (6/7). Signatures range 5-8 out of 10 with majority grading 6 or better. The 1914 Athletics won the American League pennant only to lose to the ”Miracle” Braves in the World Series, 1914 marked the end of the Athletics dynasty that remains today one of the most formidable in Major League history. The rarity of pre 1920 team autographed baseballs is such that any team commands a premium in the marketplace and the fact that this is a pennant winning team with six HOF’ers and several very rare signatures place this baseball among the rarest of any team balls previously offered.
