Lot 227

Description: Rare May 30, 1982 ticket stub from the first game of Cal Ripken Jr.'s Consecutive Games Played Streak. Notably scarce original ticket stub issued for a game played in Toronto between the Balt. Orioles and the Toronto Blue Jays. Ripken would begin his streak at the third base position and eighth in the batting lineup. From that point on, Ripken played in every game for the Orioles from May 30, 1982 until he asked manager Ray Miller to sit him down on Sept. 20, 1998 after playing in 2,632 consecutive games. The ticket remains very clean with its perforation intact. One of the most desired and scarce tickets of its type relating to an historic and likely insurmountable accomplishment: EX-MT
