Description: Rare 1921 Kansas City Monarchs presentational belt buckle. Very early Negro League related item of significance has a central ornate field with crossed bats and ball dTcor. "K.C. Monarchs" raised lettering is present at the top of the center panel. Stamped on the back by the manufacturer, "Green, K.C. Gold Filled". The offered belt buckle dates to just the second year of operation for the Monarchs, who were among founding members of the Negro National League in 1920. The Monarchs entered the league with a roster consisting of a mixture of players taken from two former barnstorming teams, the All-Nations team and the 25th Infantry Wreckers (an elite Army team).
