| Description: May 27, 1878 Pittsburgh Alleghenies vs. Tecumseh BBC trophy baseball. Very early hand painted figure eight style baseball in period maroon paint has hand painted gilt team names, score, and date. Overall condition is very fine retaining excellent original surface. The Alleghenies were the first professional baseball team in Pittsburgh and would eventually become known as the Pittsburgh Pirates around the turn of the century.
