| Description: Superb 1904 Exposition Park panoramic photograph by George Lawrence Co. Sweeping sepia tone 21 1/2"x 39" panoramic photograph taken from a center field vantage point during a game played between the Pittsburgh Pirates and New York Giants. Image quality is exceptional and highly typical of the work from Lawrence studios, which pioneered the technique of stadium photography. Titled at the bottom in white lettering, "Exposition Park Pittsburg-New York Baseball Game" and "Photo and Copyright 1904 by Geo. R. Lawrence Co., Chicago". Overall condition is very fine with a small tear at the top margin and some light soiling at the far right edge with one small area of retouching. We have only encountered this exact original photograph on one other occasion which now resides in a private collection: EX-EX/MT |
