Description: Rare 1924 Steve O'Niell Chicago World Tour uniform. In an effort to promote the game of baseball in Europe, it was decided that All-Star teams comprised of Major League players would tour Europe after the 1924 season. The teams included numerous notable players and officials incl. Hughie Jennings, John McGraw, Frank Frisch, Chas. Comiskey, Ed Walsh, and John Evers. Offered is the "Chicago" Tour uniform as worn by Steve O'Niell. By any measurable standards, the 1924 Tour uniforms were among the most attractive ever produced. Jersey retains its original red on blue "Chicago" lettering across the front and cadet style collar with red and blue stars. The sleeves of the shirt each feature a large red, white, and blue U.S. flag patch. Spalding tag remains inside the collar and "O'Niel" is chain stitched onto the tail exterior. Matching pants with red and blue piping retain Spalding tag on the interior waist and have "O'Niel" chain stitched into the fly. Retains its original Alex Taylor Sporting Goods leather belt. Also included are the rare original red, white, and blue wool socks. The uniform remains in outstanding original condition with appropriate light usage and age toning while retaining brilliant original color. To the best of our knowledge, the offered uniform is the most complete and intact original set of the surviving exemplars: EX-MT
