The offered uniform dates to Joe DiMaggio's final season with the New York Yankees. True to his legendary standards of excellence, Joe ended his career winning yet another World Championship for the Yankees against the New York Giants. Although his retirement at the end of the season was a disappointment to many fans, it is fascinating to read period news accounts which clearly illustrate that they understood and respected Joe's decision.
