| Description: 1978 Joe DiMaggio World Series ring. 14K gold ring features "DiMaggio" nameplate above "1978" raised numerals under which is the "NY" logo flanked by "Pride" and "Tradition" placards . The opposite side panel has an image of Yankee Stadium above a World Series trophy. Top of the ring has a single diamond of approx .5 carats inset on a blue field encircled by "World Champions" raised lettering. A rim of (21) inset diamonds are found on the perimeter of the blue field. "LGB 14K" hallmarks and "Greatest Come Back in History" lettering are impressed on the interior band as they were on the original 1978 ring for Balfour. This ring is part of the replacement set issued to Joe by Mr. Steinbrenner and the New York Yankees after his original rings were stolen in the 1960s.
