| Description: 1982 Joe DiMaggio "Pride of the Yankees" award. Prestigious award presented to Joe DiMaggio on April 5, 1962 by New York Yankees principal owner George Steinbrenner. The award consists of a copper plated baseball atop a mahogany pedestal base. Brass placard on the front is inscribed "Pride of The Yankees Star of so many of baseball's finest hours. April 5, 1982". The award was presented to DiMaggio in honor of his lifetime service to the Yankee organization both on and off of the field. Includes the original program for the award ceremony held at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel picturing DiMaggio on the front cover and 8"x10" black and white photo of DiMaggio accepting the award from Mr. Steinbrenner: NM |
