| Description: May 23, 1939 Joe DiMaggio benefit game broadside. Rare cardboard display issued to promote a benefit game at which DiMaggio was scheduled to appear in Newark, NJ on May 23, 1939. The game was to benefit the Newark Home for Crippled Children and was organized by Jerry Spatola, Jr. The sign measures 14"x22" and pictures DiMaggio batting at the left side. A handwritten note to Joe on the reverse indicates the poster was sent as an example for the event. The sign remains fairly clean overall with quarter fold lines: VG-EX |
