| Description: Rare Babe Ruth cardboard advertising display sign c.1927-28. Large 14"x21" cardboard sign picturing Ruth advertising "Whiz It Union-Alls" clothing while washing a car with a young boy. The sign is missing its original easel backstand and is dated 1928 on the reverse. The bottom area of the display has some inpainting and restoration to a few tears. Top 2/3 of the sign remain fairly clean with some surface soiling and a few creases. The offered display is the first of its type that we have encountered and given its age and non descript product is likely a unique surviving example: VG (With note to restoration) |
