Description: Significant Fred Clarke single signed baseball from the 1909 World Series. Lightly toned B.Johnson AL ball signed on a side panel in black fountain pen, "To My Friend Lucy Crawford Fred C. Clarke". Clarke has also written on two adjoining side panels, "October 11, 1909" and " Pitts.-8 Detr.-6". Clarke's penmanship is known for its flair and rates 7 out of 10. The ball was used in Game #3 of the 1909 World Series which was played in Detroit. The 1909 World Series was billed as a more of a showdown between the two marquis players of the day Honus Wagner and Ty Cobb. Wagner and the the Pirates prevailed winning the third game en route to taking the Series by a total of 4 games to 3 games. Very rare single signed HOF'er baseball with historical import as a World Series game used baseball. Includes LOA from PSA/DNA J.Spence-S.Grad: EX
