Description: Rabbit Maranville single signature baseball c. 1947. Grady “Official Playground” baseball with light age toning signed on the sweet spot by HOF’er Rabbit Maranville. Signature rates 8 out of 10 with only a hint of scuffing on the “ra” in Maranville. Maranville was one of the greatest shortstops in the history of the game recording 6,413 putouts in 2,154 games, he died at the age of 62 in 1954 less then one month before his election to the Hall of Fame. Ball was obtained at July 23,1947 Philadelphia Athletics game where Maranville had signed a few balls and was throwing them into the crowd. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from the original recipient and four ticket stubs to the game. Very rare single signature baseball: EX-EX/MT
