Description: Fine Ty Cobb folk art billboard. Wonderfully weathered, vintage yellow, red, and black paints welcomed visitors to Royston, Georgia "Home of Baseball's Immortal Ty Cobb". The billboard depicts Cobb hitting the inside of a base with the toes of his left foot and crossing his right leg over third base which was a strategy Cobb used to eliminate steps as he rounded the base. Ironically, despite the reference to Cobb's immortality, the bollboard is accompanied by what is believed to be a vintage print of the last photograph of Cobb ever taken just nine days prior to his death, in which he is shown standing in front of a similar billboard. Sign is in four equal section measuring a total of 8'x16'. Retains great original paint and surface with appropriate wear from weather exposure. Bold display piece with folk art appeal and baseball relevance: VG-EX
