Lot 676

Description: Scarce May 19, 1922 Baseball "All-Star" auto. baseball. Toned and clear coated B.Johnson AL ball signed by (24) players in black ink. Player list reads like a computer fantasy team to include Ruth, Cobb, Johnson, Speaker, Collins, Heilmann, C.Mays, Hornsby, H.Jennings, U.Shocker, J.Daubert (died in 1924), Maranville, Schalk, Alexander, and G.Sisler. Signatures remain very strong for the most part ranging from 6-9 out of 10. Grouping of signatures on this ball is arguably among the best in existence with (12) Hall of Fame members including seven of the original HOF inductees. Interestingly Babe Ruth would play his first game on May 20, 1922 after serving a suspension since Oct. 16, 1921 from Kennesaw M. Landis. Remarkable autographed piece with import, rarity, and quality regarding both players and condition: Ball: VG, Signatures: Range EX-NM
